01 — Lockbox Access
How To Open The Lockbox On A Gas Cart
Your 4-digit lockbox code arrives by email at 7 AM the morning before your rental, and again by text once the cart is staged. All listed drivers receive the code.
Lift the middle row of seats using the armrest. The gas tank is mounted directly underneath, with the lockbox attached to the top of the tank.
Align the numbers on the keypad to match your code exactly, then slide the black button downward to open.
Remove the key, close the lockbox securely, and lower the seat back into place. The key ring holds both the ignition key and the silver LED remote fob.
02 — Bluetooth Soundbar
How To Connect Your Phone To The EcoXGear SE-18 Soundbar
Beach Better gas carts use the EcoXGear SE-18 Bluetooth soundbar with built-in party lights. The soundbar's lights are separate from the underbody LED glow lights — both can run at the same time.
Start the cart first, then press and hold the soundbar power button until the audio prompt confirms it is on and ready to connect. To power off, press the button briefly.
Open Bluetooth settings on your phone and connect to EcoXGear SE-18. Watch the LED on the soundbar:
Press volume buttons briefly to step up or down. Hold for continuous adjustment. Use the Mode button to cycle between Bluetooth, EcoCast, FM, and AUX. Hold the main button 3 seconds to activate Siri or Google Assistant (EcoTalk).
Press the sunshine icon button. Press multiple times to cycle between solid and pulse modes.
Press the button beside the light button to toggle the rear strip on and off.
03 — LED Underglow Party Lights
How To Activate The Underbody LED Glow Lights
The underbody and wheel-well LED glow lights are controlled by the silver remote fob on your key ring (separate from the soundbar lights).
With the cart running, press the power button on the silver remote fob attached to your key ring. The underbody and wheel-well LEDs illuminate.
Use the remote to change colors, toggle between solid and chase modes, and control animation speed.
04 — Headlights
How To Turn On The Headlights (Not Automatic)
Headlights on Beach Better gas carts do not turn on automatically. Before driving at dusk or after dark, find the headlight switch on the dashboard and flip it. Florida law requires LSV headlights to be on in low-visibility conditions.
Insert your key and turn to the ON position.
Locate the headlight switch on the dashboard — it has a lightbulb icon. Flip it to activate lights. Two positions:
- Position 1 — Low beams (standard night driving on Scenic Gulf Drive and 30A)
- Position 2 — High beams (open roads with no oncoming traffic)

How To Refuel A Beach Better Gas Cart
All Beach Better gas carts run on 87 Unleaded gasoline. Carts must be returned with a full tank, or you can add prepaid fuel service before your return for $18.50 and skip the gas station entirely.
Fill the tank at any gas station in Destin or Miramar Beach using 87 Unleaded before returning the cart.

- Route 30A (Santa Rosa Beach, Seaside, WaterColor, Rosemary Beach, Grayton Beach)
- Any road posted 35 mph or less
- Neighborhood streets in Crystal Beach, Holiday Isle, Dune Allen, Seagrove, Inlet Beach
- Crossing Highway 98 at traffic lights
- Marked vehicle parking spots
Not Permitted
- Emerald Coast Parkway / Business 98 (east-west travel)
- Sidewalks or pedestrian paths
- The beach or sand
- Trails or unpaved surfaces
- Any road posted above 35 mph

What fuel do Beach Better gas golf carts use?
All Beach Better gas golf carts require 87 Unleaded gasoline only. Do not use premium, diesel, or ethanol blends above E10. Any gas station in Destin or Miramar Beach carries 87 Unleaded.
How do I connect my phone to the Beach Better golf cart soundbar?
Beach Better gas carts use the EcoXGear SE-18 Bluetooth soundbar. Start the cart, press and hold the soundbar power button until the audio prompt confirms it's ready to connect, then open Bluetooth on your phone and select EcoXGear SE-18. A solid blue LED on the soundbar confirms a successful connection.
Are headlights automatic on Beach Better gas golf carts?
No. Headlights on Beach Better gas golf carts are not automatic and must be turned on manually before driving at dusk or after dark. Find the headlight switch on the dashboard (lightbulb icon) and flip it. Position 1 is low beams; Position 2 is high beams. Florida law requires LSV headlights to be on in low-visibility conditions.
What happens if I return a gas golf cart rental without refueling?
If a Beach Better gas cart is returned without fuel and prepaid fuel service was not added, a $30.00 refueling fee is charged to the card on file. To avoid this charge, fill up with 87 Unleaded at any local gas station before returning, or text (850) 830-4699 in advance to add prepaid fuel service for $18.50.
Can I use the soundbar party lights and the underbody glow lights at the same time?
Yes. The EcoXGear SE-18 soundbar's built-in party lights and the underbody LED glow lights are entirely independent systems. Both can operate simultaneously — the soundbar controls its own lights, and the silver remote fob on your key ring controls the underglow separately.
Where is the lockbox on a Beach Better gas golf cart?
The lockbox on a Beach Better gas golf cart is mounted on the gas tank, directly beneath the middle row of seats. Lift the middle seat using the armrest — the gas tank is visible underneath with the lockbox attached to its top. Enter your 4-digit code, slide the black button down, and remove your key.
The LED glow lights on my rental golf cart aren't working — what do I do?
First, make sure the cart is running, then press the power button on the silver remote fob attached to your key ring. If the underbody LEDs still don't respond, locate the dashboard switch with the blue indicator light and flip it to reset the LED controller. If the issue continues, text Beach Better at (850) 830-4699.
Are Beach Better golf cart rentals street legal in Florida?
Yes. Every Beach Better rental is a fully street-legal Low Speed Vehicle (LSV) registered with the State of Florida. Each cart includes a valid Florida plate, VIN, headlights, taillights, turn signals, side mirrors, a rearview mirror, a windshield, and seat belts for every seat — meeting all Florida LSV requirements for public road use in Destin, Miramar Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, and the 30A corridor.
Where can I drive a rental golf cart in Destin and Miramar Beach, Florida?
Beach Better LSV rentals are cleared for public roads posted at 35 mph or under, including Scenic Gulf Drive in Miramar Beach and Destin, and Route 30A through Grayton Beach, Seaside, WaterColor, Seagrove, Rosemary Beach, Crystal Beach, Holiday Isle, and Dune Allen. They may not be driven on Emerald Coast Parkway (Business 98), sidewalks, the beach, or trails.
