Lift The Seat, The Key Is Right There

The front seat cushion lifts. Underneath it, sitting on the floor next to the battery, is a small black lockbox. That is the whole trick, and it takes about ten seconds once you know.

1. Lift the front seat cushion. The lockbox is on the floor underneath, alongside the battery.
2. Line up the four digits. Straight across, and they park half a notch off more often than you would like.
3. Slide the black button down. The lid pops open and the key is inside.

Read This Before You Turn The Key

4TB49L is not lifted, and that helps: lower body, lower center of gravity, easier in and out. It is still a licensed motor vehicle that weighs a fraction of what your car weighs.

1. Four seats, four belts, four riders. Children counted the same as adults. No laps, no standing, nobody on the back step while it moves, hands and feet inside.
2. Approved drivers only. 22 or older, valid license, active auto insurance in their own name, listed and approved on the signed agreement before the rental began. Anyone else driving is prohibited use, which voids coverage and shifts responsibility to the renter.
3. Car seats travel with you. Florida Statute 316.613 requires a child through age 3 in a separate carrier or an integrated child seat, and a booster does not satisfy it. A child aged 4 or 5 needs a carrier, an integrated seat, or a booster.
4. Phone down while moving, and Florida DUI law applies here. Handheld and hands free are both prohibited in motion.
5. Walk around it before the first drive. Tires, belts, lights, body. Text a photo of anything wrong to (850) 830-4699. If there is a crash: 911, stay, report, then text us.

Insurance, In Plain English

People ask what happens if something goes wrong, and the honest answer is worth reading before you need it.

• Your own auto policy is primary. Under Florida Statute 627.7263, the valid and collectible liability and personal injury protection insurance of an authorized rental driver is primary for the limits required by state law. That is why every approved driver has to carry active auto insurance in their own name.
• You attest to it when you sign. The rental agreement is e-signed, and Florida Statute 668.004 gives an electronic signature the same force and effect as a written one.
• Renter's Collision Protection is optional. It is available at booking at $39.50 per driver per day with a $500 deductible, and it caps your out of pocket exposure rather than replacing your own policy. Details are on the Renter's Collision Protection page.
• An unapproved driver voids all of it. If somebody who is not listed and approved takes the wheel, that is prohibited use and responsibility shifts to the renter. This is the single most expensive mistake a group can make.

Starting It

1. Belts on, then the key.
2. Tow switch on RUN, not TOW. On this one look on the front passenger side near the glovebox. Parked on TOW the vehicle is deliberately dead.
3. Turn the key twice to the right. One click lights the dash, two clicks wakes the drive system.
4. F or R at a complete stop, then ease onto the pedal. Electric torque is instant and silent.
5. Headlights, blinkers and horn. Use them on public roads exactly as you would in a car.

Charge It, Then Read It

Standard wall outlet, every night, about eight hours from low to full. A full pack is good for roughly 20 to 22 miles depending on load, terrain, speed and how hard the lights and sound are working.

• Plug in nightly, even after a short run. Habit beats memory on vacation.
• One outlet per vehicle. Two on one circuit trips the breaker overnight.
• Older place, clear the circuit. Unplug the coffee maker and the TV from that outlet first.
• Both cord ends glow when it is charging. Dark ends mean a dead outlet, not a dead cart.
• The cord rides with the vehicle. Left at the condo it becomes a $200 tow the first time you run low.

The round ECO gauge sits near the glovebox on the passenger side and reads honest through the whole pack. Check it before you head out, not on the way home.

Lights And Sound

Wake the dash with the key, then press Power on the small silver remote tethered to the dashboard. Mode runs solid, seven chase patterns, pulse, scan, strobe, fade, S.O.S and music or voice reactive modes. Color covers red, hot pink, pink, purple, orange, yellow, green, teal, blue, white and two cycling options. Speed has five levels.

Glow lights are decoration, not headlights. For music, key to on, open Bluetooth on your phone and select this cart's speaker. Keep the volume where you can still hear traffic and a siren, and turn it down through residential streets at night.

Where You Can Drive It

4TB49L is titled, tagged and insured as a Low Speed Vehicle under Florida Statute 320.01 and 49 C.F.R. 571.500. Florida Statute 316.2122 puts it on public roads posted 35 mph or less, which around Miramar Beach means Scenic Gulf Drive, and further east means County Road 30A through Santa Rosa Beach.

US-98, the beach, sidewalks, dune walkovers and trails are all off limits, including crossing US-98 anywhere other than a legal signalized intersection. Communities set their own rules on private roads and several along 30A and inside Sandestin do not allow rental vehicles at all, so check your address on the Neighborhood Rules page. Park in marked spaces only and set the parking brake every time.

AirTag, Arrival And Return

Every vehicle carries an Apple AirTag that cannot be removed, which is how we find you fast when you need help. If your phone flags an unknown AirTag traveling with you, that is ours, and the windshield ID tells you which vehicle it belongs to.

It arrives clean and charged by your start time, sometimes early, because drivers route by geography rather than the clock, which is how delivery stays free. Early is yours to use. If nobody is home we park it neatly out of the way.

1. Charge to 90 percent or better and leave it plugged in. Under 90 is a $100 charge.
2. Key back in the lockbox, digits scrambled. Cord back in the vehicle.
3. Text (850) 830-4699 when it is ready. We come at the end of the rental or shortly after.

Charges worth dodging: key or remote $50, cord $50, stranded tow $200, late return $100 an hour, citations passed through plus $35 admin.

If Something Is Off

Will not charge

Cord ends dark means the breaker. A tripped GFI is nearly always it. Reset, replug, look for the glow. Still nothing, unplug for thirty seconds and retry. Two vehicles need two circuits.

Will not start or move

Tow switch on RUN, front passenger side near the glovebox. Key twice right. Parking brake released. Selector fully in F or R.

Anything that feels unsafe

Soft tire, steering that pulls, a brake pedal that goes long. Park somewhere safe and legal and text us.
