Key Out, Then A Straight Word About How It Drives
Lockbox is under the front seat, next to the battery, and the seat lifts on its armrest. Lift, dial the four digits straight across, slide the black button down, take the key, close the seat.
No code yet
It went to the primary driver by text and email when the rental started and by email again the night before. Check spam, then check with whoever booked. Codes only go to drivers approved on the agreement.
Rollover warning: loaded and lifted is the tippy combination
A Low Speed Vehicle weighs a fraction of what a car weighs and rides on a narrow track, and this one is lifted, so it leans and tips where a car would grip. Load four adults plus a cooler and you have raised the center of gravity further. The sideways force in a turn roughly quadruples when you double your speed. Rollovers come from three moves: turning too fast, swerving suddenly, and catching a curb or a soft sandy edge mid turn. Brake before the corner, roll through, straighten, then accelerate.
No airbags, no crumple zones, no doors, no roof cage. The seat belt is the entire safety system.

Loading It For A Beach Day
Four seats fill up fast, and the stuff is what causes the problems. A cooler on somebody's knees is a projectile, and an umbrella sticking out the side is a hazard to every cyclist you pass.
- People in seats, gear on the floor or in a storage box. Nothing rides on laps, nothing hangs off the side, nothing sticks out past the body. Four belts, four riders, kids counted the same as adults.
- Chairs and umbrellas need to be secured. Long items shift in a turn and shifting weight is exactly what you do not want in a lifted vehicle.
- Wet and sandy is fine, standing water is not. Shake the sand off before you sit, and do not hose out the floor. This is a motor vehicle with electrics under the seats, not a boat.
- Salt air is relentless. If you park by the beach all day, that is normal and expected. Just do not leave it plugged in outside in the rain, and do not leave valuables in an open vehicle for a minute.
- Take everything with you. There is no lockable compartment. Phones, wallets, bags and keys leave with the driver, every stop.

Rules That Do Not Move
- Approved drivers only. 22 or older, valid license, active auto insurance in their own name, listed and approved on the signed agreement before the rental began. That is who gets the code, and anyone else driving is prohibited use that voids coverage and shifts responsibility to the renter.
- Car seats travel with you. Florida Statute 316.613 requires a child through age 3 in a separate carrier or an integrated child seat, and a booster does not satisfy it. A child aged 4 or 5 needs a carrier, an integrated seat, or a booster.
- Phone down while moving. Handheld and hands free alike, screen included. Stop somewhere safe and lawful first.
- Florida DUI law applies here. Same as your car, no exceptions for a beach road.
- Walk around it before the first drive. Tires, belts, lights, body. Text a photo of anything wrong to (850) 830-4699. If there is a crash: 911, stay, report, then text us.

Starting It
- Belts on first.
- Tow switch on RUN, not TOW. Near the battery under the seat or on the passenger side by the glovebox. On TOW it is dead by design.
- Key twice to the right. One click lights the dash and the screen, two clicks wakes the drive.
- F or R at a complete stop. Then ease onto the pedal, because electric torque arrives instantly and silently.
- Headlights, blinkers and horn. Use them like a car, especially where the road narrows.
Parking brake, every single stop
There is no park gear. The brake is the only thing holding it, so set it when you step out, turn the wheels toward the curb on any slope, and take the key. Beach lots are rarely as flat as they look.
Touchscreen dark? Nine times out of ten the key is not turned far enough. Give it that first full click and wait a beat. A key off, five seconds, key on cycle clears most freezes, and a dead screen does not stop you driving.

Charge And Gauge
Lithium ECO battery. Standard wall outlet, roughly eight hours low to full, plugged in every night and any time it is parked at the house. The round gauge above the glovebox on the passenger side reads honest through the whole pack, so trust the needle and check it before the trip out. A full charge is worth about 20 to 22 miles, and a normal day around Miramar Beach does not come close to using it.
- Nightly, always. A beach day plus an evening run drains more than people expect.
- One outlet per vehicle. Two on one circuit trips the breaker.
- Older place, clear the circuit. Unplug the coffee maker from that outlet first.
- Both cord ends glow. Dark ends mean a dead outlet, not a dead vehicle.
- Cord stays with the vehicle. Not the condo. Flat at the far end of 30A is a $200 tow.
Home at 90 percent or better, plugged in
Standard on every electric we rent, and under 90 percent is a $100 charge. Lithium reads steady then drops off fast at the bottom, so do not treat a low gauge as spare miles.

Lights And Music
Wake the dash, then press Power on the small silver remote tethered to the dashboard. Mode runs solid, seven chase patterns, pulse, scan, strobe, fade, S.O.S and music or voice reactive modes. Color covers red, hot pink, pink, purple, orange, yellow, green, teal, blue, white, color cycle and color fade. Speed has five levels.
Remote clicking, nothing glowing
Black switch with a blue indicator, low on the dashboard. Flip it ON. Still dark, check the dash is lit. Leave the other toggles alone.
Glow lights are not headlights and do not replace them. For music, key to on, open Bluetooth on your phone, pick this cart's speaker. Keep the volume where you can still hear a bicycle bell behind you, and turn it down through the neighborhoods after dark.

Roads, And Where To Actually Park It
L4HB99L is titled, tagged and insured as a Low Speed Vehicle under Florida Statute 320.01 and 49 C.F.R. 571.500, and Florida Statute 316.2122 puts it on public roads posted 35 mph or less. That is Scenic Gulf Drive through Miramar Beach and Destin, County Road 30A through Santa Rosa Beach, and the streets between.
Never
US-98 at any point, including crossing anywhere except a legal signalized intersection. Sidewalks, beach walkovers, dune trails and the sand are all out. The lift makes it look capable on sand. It is not, and it will bury itself trying.
Parking on a beach day
Marked spaces only. Never block a walkover, a bike lane, a crosswalk, a hydrant or a driveway, because that is how a great day ends with a citation passed through to you plus a $35 admin fee. Set the parking brake, take the key, take the valuables. And check your address on the Neighborhood Rules page, since several communities along 30A and inside Sandestin do not allow rental vehicles at all.

AirTag, Arrival And Handback
Every vehicle carries an Apple AirTag that cannot be removed, which is how we reach you quickly when something goes wrong. If your phone flags an unknown AirTag traveling with you, that is ours. The ID is L4HB99L, same as the windshield.
It arrives clean and charged by your start time, sometimes early, because drivers route by geography rather than the clock. Early is yours to use. If nobody is home we park it neatly to the side.
- Charge to 90 percent or better and leave it plugged in. Under 90 is a $100 charge.
- Key back in the lockbox, digits scrambled. Cord back under the seat.
- Text (850) 830-4699 when it is ready. We come at the end of the rental or shortly after.
Avoidable charges: key or remote $50, cord $50, stranded tow $200, late return $100 an hour, citations plus $35 admin. Everything else is in the Terms.

Troubleshooting
Will not charge
Cord ends dark, go straight to the breaker. Tripped GFI is almost always the answer. Reset, replug, watch for the glow. Still nothing, unplug thirty seconds, retry. Two vehicles, two circuits.
Will not start or move
Tow switch on RUN, key twice right, parking brake released, selector fully in F or R. In that order, before you text.
Anything that feels wrong
Soft tire, steering pulling, a brake pedal that feels long, a warning light. Park somewhere safe and legal and text us instead of finishing the drive on it.
Send the photo first
Nine times out of ten a quick picture or ten second video solves it on the spot, and it is the first thing we will ask for anyway.

Questions From The Beach Lot
What is the difference between a lifted and a non lifted golf cart rental?
A lifted cart has a suspension raise kit and larger tires, giving a rugged look, more ground clearance and a higher seating position. A non lifted cart sits closer to the ground, is easier to step in and out of for all ages, and has a lower center of gravity, which makes it the steadier choice. L4HB99L is lifted, so drive it slower into corners and keep the load low and secured.
Can you drive a golf cart on the beach in Florida?
No. Driving on the sand is prohibited, along with sidewalks, beach walkovers and dune trails. A Low Speed Vehicle belongs on paved public roads posted 35 mph or less. Park in a marked space and walk the last stretch to the water.
Do gas golf carts have a battery?
Yes. A gas cart carries a small 12 volt battery, much like a car battery, that runs the ignition, lights and electronics. It is separate from the fuel system and can go flat if the cart sits unused or the lights get left on, so a dead 12 volt battery is often the first thing to check when a gas cart will not start. L4HB99L is not a gas unit, it runs a lithium ECO pack.
Is L4HB99L street legal in Florida?
Yes. It is a Low Speed Vehicle under Florida Statute 320.01 and 49 C.F.R. 571.500, carrying Florida plate DR45GD, a VIN, a title, current registration and insurance. Florida Statute 316.2122 permits it on public roads posted 35 mph or less. Never on US-98.
How many people can ride, and where does the gear go?
Four people, one per seat with a belt each, children included. Gear goes on the floor or in a storage box, never on laps and never hanging off the side. Exceeding the rated capacity is illegal on Florida public roads and the liability falls on the renter.
Who is allowed to drive it?
Approved drivers only: 22 or older, valid license, active auto insurance in their own name, and listed and approved on the signed rental agreement before the rental begins. Two are included and each additional driver is $15, approved online in advance.
Insurance, in plain English
Your own auto policy does the heavy lifting. Florida Statute 627.7263 makes an authorized rental driver's liability and personal injury protection coverage primary to the limits state law requires, which is why every approved driver must carry it in their own name. You attest to that when you sign, and Florida Statute 668.004 gives that electronic signature the same force and effect as a written one. Renter's Collision Protection is optional at $39.50 per driver per day with a $500 deductible, detailed on the Renter's Collision Protection page.
