Know The Florida Laws For Low Speed Vehicles

Prohibited Activities:

  • No drinking alcohol or using drugs while operating the LSV.

  • Use of cell phones and headsets for music or mobile devices is prohibited while driving the LSV, as per Florida law.

  • Pets are not permitted in the LSV.

    Requirements:

    • Drivers must ensure proper weight distribution and confirm all passengers are seated and belted before moving the vehicle. No standing in the cart when in motion or parked.

    • Do not place items (chairs, coolers, etc.) on the roof.

    • Your auto insurance is primary, not ours.

    Reporting Damages:

    • Report any damages to the cart immediately by snapping a picture and texting it to us at 850-830-4699. Do not wait until you leave town.

    Severe Weather:

    • In cases of severe weather or hurricanes, we reserve the right to pick up the vehicle for indoor storage until it is safe to return it.

Extra Charges & Fees (billed to the credit card on file):

  • Citations: Penalty amount + $35 administrative processing fee

  • Late Return: $100/hour

    • Failure to Return: Failure to return the LSV upon expiration of the rental period and failure to pay all amounts due (including costs for damage) are prima facie evidence of intent to defraud, punishable under section 812.155, Florida Statutes.

  • Lost Key/Glow Remote: $50

  • Missing Extension Cord (Electric Only): $50

  • Returned Cart <90% Charged (Electric Only): $100

No Refunds

  • Early Returns: No refunds for early returns.

  • Violation of Law: If the vehicle is operated in violation of the law, including but not limited to:

    • Driving on US Highway 98/Emerald Coast Pkwy or its pedestrian paths

    • Driving on the sidewalk

    • Using the vehicle without seat belts, lap-riding, or double-buckling

    • Transporting children aged 3 or under without a car seat

      Cancellation Requests

      • Within 10 Days of Start Date: No refunds for cancellation requests made within 10 days of the start date.

      • 10+ Days Prior to Start Date: Cancellation requests made 10 or more days prior to the start date will incur a $50 cancellation fee, regardless of the reason.

    • Unforeseen Issues: If we need to recall your cart due to a hurricane or other unforeseen issue, a prorated refund will be issued for the days you prepaid but could not use.

Your rental comes with an Apple AirTag installed which cannot be removed. This helps us provide quick and efficient support if you need assistance. Each vehicle has a unique ID number on its windshield that matches the alert on your phone. You can use this code to confirm whether it's our vehicle that triggered your phone alert during your stay (if you have that functionality enabled in your device). Here's what it looks like:

📞 Accidents | How To Handle

Always Call 911 | Call Beach Better Next | Never Leave The Scene

In the event of an accident, please follow these steps to ensure everyone's safety and comply with legal requirements:

  1. Call 911: Report the accident immediately.  THIS IS REQUIRED EVEN IF THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES INVOLVED.

  2. Stay at the Scene: Do not leave the scene of the accident.

  3. Accident Report: Obtain an accident report from the sheriff. Treat it the same way as an accident involving your car or truck.

  4. Move Safely: When conditions and regulations permit, move the low speed vehicle to the shoulder or side of the roadway to prevent further damage or hazards.

  5. Stay Calm: Keep calm and be courteous. Do not argue or make any statements about the accident to anyone except a Police Officer. Get the officer's name and badge number. Do not make any settlements.

  6. Gather Information:

    • Obtain the names and addresses of witnesses.

    • Obtain the names and addresses of all persons injured, regardless of how minor the injury.

    • Try to find out where the injured are being treated.

  7. Document the Scene: Take videos and photos of the damages to vehicles and property.

  8. Contact Us: Text or call the Beach Better Team at (850) 830-4699 to report the incident.

  9. Incident Report: An Incident Report form is required to thoroughly document all damages involved in an accident.

Important Note:

  • Dead batteries and lost keys are not classified as an emergency. We will care for your group’s non-accident-related needs during normal business hours. Emergencies are classified as a crash or theft.
